May 1st regular assembly meeting items included a welcome to the new Community Development Director; discussion of the FY13 (starts July 1) MSB draft budget public hearings and assembly deliberation schedule; summaries of the borough manager’s and attorney’s recent trip to Washington, DC; and unanimous passing of an interim materials district ordinance regarding future availability of gravel for railroad and public use. The mayor declared this the shortest regular meeting in recent history, and announced hearing his first robin song this spring.
The public may comment on the FY13 budget draft on May 2 and 3, at 6 p.m., at the Central MatSu Public Safety Building in Wasilla. Assembly deliberations are scheduled for May 3, 7, 8, 9, and 14 as necessary. The public has requested a comment period after deliberations.
