KVRF FM has been broadcasting from the Fair from 11 to 6 each day. We’ve been interviewing vendors and fair goers, announcing the schedule, and just enjoying being at the Fair.
On Friday, August 31, 2012 we broadcast until 8 pm and covered the giant cabbage weighing. The weight of this year’s World Record cabbage was 138.25 pounds.
Note: the Cabbage Classic Lottery had a ticket with a guessed weight of 137.4 pounds. The holder of the ticket has until Friday September 7, 2012 to turn in the ticket at the Alaska State Main Office and claim the prize of over 500 dollars.
