Studs Terkel: Labor Day at 5pm

Sep 2, 2012 | Other Programming

On this special edition of Prime Time Radio, we’re commemorating the life and legacy of an American original – Studs Terkel. The celebrated radio host and writer re-invented the oral hist

ory for modern America, leaving a legacy of our times through the voices of the mostly very ordinary people who told him their stories. In 2006, Prime Time Radio host, Mike Cuthbert traveled to Chicago where he visited Studs in his North Side home to discuss his then current book, in which he reminisced about the great musicians he’d met over the course of his then 94 years. To mark the recent passing of the one and only Studs Terkel we re-broadcast their conversation. Photo fromhttp://www.studsterkel.org/
