Bridge to Everywhere 6.10.2013 Whales part 2
On Monday, June 10 at 7 pm, join Sam and Kevin on Bridge to Everywhere for Part 2 of their interview with former SeaWorld killer whale trainer, John Hargrove.
John is a leading cast member in the soon-to-be released Sundance-selected documentary “Blackfish” a new movie that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the history and consequences of keeping Killer whales in captivity. John has 14 years of experience working with killer whales at both SeaWorld of Texas and SeaWorld of California and he also worked as a trainer at Marineland Antibes in the south of France. He resigned his position with SeaWorld in August of 2012 and currently resides in New York City.
On this show, we’ll answer more listener questions on air. And we’ll talk to John about his opinions on the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) vs. SeaWorld trial last year where OSHA sued SeaWorld for the death of Trainer Dawn Brancheau and we’ll also ask him for his insight into SeaWorld’s captive breeding program.
And we’ll also hear more from John about his 14-years of experience training Killer whales, why he decided to quit his job, what he currently thinks about the practice of keeping whales in captivity, and more.
