From the New York Times’ website: “Clifford J. Levy is an assistant masthead editor at The New York Times who oversees digital platforms. He led the editorial team that developed NYT Now, a new app from The Times.
“He is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize, and has received several other honors, including three George Polk Awards, the Overseas Press Club Award and the National Magazine Award.
“Mr. Levy previously worked as a deputy Metro editor, Moscow bureau chief, investigative reporter and political correspondent.
“In 2002, he published an investigative series in The Times that exposed the abuse of the mentally ill in state-regulated homes in New York City. The project won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting, as well as a George Polk Award.
“Mr. Levy joined the international staff of The Times in 2006 as Moscow bureau chief. He and a colleague, Ellen Barry, wrote a series about human rights and freedom of speech in Russia, “Above the Law,” that received the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 2011, as well as the Polk Award and the Overseas Press Club Award.
“Soon after leaving Russia, Mr. Levy wrote an article for The New York Times Magazineabout his children’s experience in Russian schools. He was a producer on a video that accompanied the article that won a National Magazine Award.
“Mr. Levy lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Julie Dressner, who is a documentary filmmaker, and their three children.”
