Mike Chmielewski streamed the press conference from station 6-1 in Wasilla. The MatSu Mayor, Assembly members, Borough Manager and staff as well as representatives from the State of Alaska Fire Manager’s Office and State Parks presented an overview of the spruce beetle damage and steps taken to make use of the wood and reduce the risk of fire.
